Welcome to Sarahwalkies

Sarah has been with us since we got our first dog as a puppy. She helped us with training him, using the same positive training and exact commands we were using at home. We knew Sarah would provide the consistency that all puppies need whilst learning to be good dogs. Sarah also provided opportunities for him to socialise with more dogs and visit different places from our routine walks. After every walk we would have an update of how the walk was. It was like having a daily school report and I always felt like our puppy was 'teacher's pet'. Later when we adopted our second dog from a rescue, we trusted Sarah would be as patient and caring with him as if he were a puppy. Although over a year old, our rescue displayed many of the characteristics of a puppy - random bouncing, mouthing and a knack for forgetting his name when something interesting was happening somewhere else. None of this was a problem for Sarah and he always came home having had the best time walking with Sarah and his little pack of friends. They say rescue's true behaviour comes out after they have really settled into their new home and ours was no different. He became a 'flight risk' which seemed to be triggered by noise. We let Sarah know and again  the response was 'no problem'. When bird scare's started on a walk, she would choose a different walk until she knew that one was safe again. Out walking dogs everyday, she knew where the quiet places were. Sadly last year we lost our first dog to cancer and our second dog lost a lot of his confidence with the death of his friend. His walks with Sarah have meant that he still has canine company and they have helped build his confidence back up. He's now back to chasing squirrels, rolling in leaves and leaping in rivers again. Sarah always takes the time to give me a run down of how the walk was, my dog does the same by bringing back some of the things he's seen on his fur! He might not always be the cleanest dog in the world when he comes home but he's definitely the proudest. I'm so happy that we have  Sarah and I know that my dog is too.
